Final A3 colour mixed media illustration
In my final A3 colour illustration I decided to use the printing method using neoprene. This is because I found this to be very effective and efficient, I also like the fact it doesn't cover the whole image when printing leaving patches of blank spaces which I like because I can use this to my advantage when im adding other materials. After I printed my mini beast using neoprene block printing I filled in the blank spaces with regular black ink from a pen which I then smudged using water to give a fade affect, it also blended into the blue from the neoprene printing making it a darker blue.
Once my piece had dried I added some white ink to bring back out the light blue from the Neoprene block printing which had been lost slightly in the black ink smudging. This is what white ink is great for bringing out light colours by using dark ones.
I chose to use Neoprene block printing as my main design choice because I like that if I don't like the print then I can simply print a new one.
